What is AI-native accounting?

AI-native accounting

AI-native accounting is an approach to accounting software that is designed from the ground up around artificial intelligence rather than having AI features added later. In AI-native accounting platforms, AI is built into core accounting workflows such as bookkeeping, categorization, reconciliation, reporting, and close.

Unlike AI-enabled accounting software, which adds AI capabilities to traditional systems, AI-native accounting uses AI as a foundational part of how accounting work gets done.

Example:  A traditional accounting platform may add an AI feature to suggest transaction categories, while an AI-native accounting platform is designed with AI at its core, allowing intelligence to participate continuously throughout bookkeeping, reconciliation, reporting, and close workflows.
