What is BOI reporting?

BOI reporting

BOI (Beneficial Ownership Information) reporting refers to FinCEN's framework for collecting information about the individuals who ultimately own or control certain businesses. BOI reporting is intended to support anti-money-laundering efforts and improve transparency around business ownership.

Example: A qualifying company may be required to report information about its beneficial owners to FinCEN as part of federal reporting requirements.
