What are assets?

Assets

Assets are resources a business owns or controls that have economic value. Common assets include cash, inventory, equipment, accounts receivable, and investments, all of which appear on the balance sheet.

Example: Cash in a business bank account and inventory waiting to be sold are both assets because they provide future economic value.
