What is a firm model?
Firm model
A Firm Model is a Digits AI model that learns accounting patterns, decisions, and standards across an accounting firm's clients.
While the Company Model learns from the history of an individual business, the Firm Model learns from accounting work across the firm's client portfolio. This can include firm-specific conventions, recurring accounting decisions, and standards for how similar situations are handled.
Within Digits' Model Layer Cake, the Firm Model is consulted after the Company Model. It provides firm-specific context when a client's own history is not enough to confidently resolve the accounting work. As the Firm Model learns from the firm's accounting history and decisions, it can help apply the firm's established expertise more consistently across clients.
Example: If a firm has developed a consistent approach for handling a type of transaction across similar clients, the Firm Model can use that history as context when the same situation appears for another client.
