What is a company model?

The Company Model is a Digits AI model that learns the accounting patterns specific to an individual business.

It uses the business's own accounting history, including vendors, recurring transactions, categorizations, and previous accounting decisions, to understand how financial activity has been treated in the past. Because a company's own history provides highly specific accounting context, the Company Model can use those patterns when it encounters similar activity.

Within Digits' Model Layer Cake, the Company Model is consulted first because it contains the most business-specific knowledge. If it does not have enough information to confidently resolve the accounting work, Digits can consult broader layers of intelligence.

Example: A business pays the same software vendor every month and consistently categorizes the expense to the same account. The Company Model can use that business's history when the vendor appears again.
