What is a close date?
Close date
A close date is the date that locks an accounting period and prevents changes to finalized financial records. Once a close date is set, edits, imports, and automations can no longer modify transactions within the closed period, helping maintain accurate and consistent reporting.
Example: After completing month-end close for January, a company sets a close date to prevent changes that could affect January financial statements.
